Davyhulme Councillor Charged

Councillor Billy Burke (Reform) has been charged with possession of an offensive weapon and is due to appear in the magistrate’s court in August.

Trafford Council have confirmed that he is not automatically disqualified from office upon being charged and he remains in post unless, and until, the legal criteria for disqualification is met.

The application will be heard at committee Thursday 11th June 6:30pm. One objection has been received on the basis that the noise impact assessment has not been submitted, although it is expected before the meeting.

The application is for a change of use from carpark to provision of food and an event led hub. Officer’s are recommending approval for a temporary period until end of 2027.

The Keep Old Trafford Tidy Group have issued an FOI on the Amey Contract

The FOI request has the intention to

“get clarity on exactly what Amey’s contractual responsibilities are, the mechanisms for how they record complaints etc and then we can better co-ordinate a fight back !!”
