Lidl planning application submitted

118073/FUL/26

Demolition of the existing garages and erection of a new discount foodstore (Use Class E) with new vehicular access, associated car parking and landscaping.

Land West Of Barton Road, Stretford, M32 9GJ

So where is this?

The entrance is opposite the BP garage at Lostock Circle.

I’m happy to see the land being used.

Transport Assessment

The applicant has provided a Transport Assessment that finds:

  • The development is located in an accessible and sustainable location.
  • Walking, cycling and public transport access are all strong.
  • The proposed site access operates within capacity in all assessment years.
  • The impact of development traffic on the surrounding highway network is minimal.
  • There are no identifiable highway safety concerns raised by recorded accident data.

If Trafford’s officers concur that there are no highways or transportation reasons to refuse planning permission for the proposed Lidl foodstore, I think I would be supportive of the application.
