The condition of road surfaces in Lostock came to a head this week on Facebook after a complaint was dismissed as not meeting the criteria and therefore not requiring action.
The criteria is that a pothole will be repaired if it’s depth is at least 40mm and 300mm across. This rule is modified for footways and crossing points in carriageways to 20mm.
Councillor Cordingley has reported the potholes on Norwich Road and Brompton Road as trip hazards at crossing points.
Clearly the road surfaces across this estate are a mess. I’d be surprised if they met the 40mm depth but this is a residential estate and people cross at all points. I’d like to see Lostock’s road surfaces on this estate receive some attention.
