Condolences to the wonderful family of Gaman Ghelani who ran the Nisa shop on Derbyshire Lane West for so many years. He made such a terrific contribution to our local community around Sevenways. He was incredibly respected and will be missed.

Bomb Disposal Team called to Canal
Thomas Street footbridge was shut for a time on Saturday as an ‘item’ found in the canal. The authorities weren’t saying what was found but people are saying on Facebook it was a grenade fished out of the Bridgewater Canal. The statement from the Police said the item was not found to be viable.

Road Surfaces – Lostock
The condition of road surfaces in Lostock came to a head this week on Facebook after a complaint was dismissed as not meeting the criteria and therefore not requiring action.
