Cricket Ground Stand and Hotel extension approved
A new stand and associated hotel extension were approved by planning on Thursday. Councillor Cordingley raised potential impact of new stand on the acoustics for concerts and twenty twenty matches. Officers acknowledged it would have to be tested for licensing of events.

Hotel Planning Application Turned Down
701 Chester Road (corner of Warwick Rd) An application to build a 16 storey Hotel was turned down by Planning Committee against planning officer’s advice on Thursday. It was considered out of keeping with the surrounding area. It would have a detrimental effect on the Town Hall and generate additional car parking.
